22oz bottle I picked up at Superstar Beverage. Pours a hazy orange with some foamy, slightly off white head. Nose has an old school take, lots of C hops, lemon, grapefruit, lots of sticky pine, some sticky honey lurking. Flavor follows right along, lots of pine, lots of lemon, some grapefruit, some soap, a little candy. Full bodied, bitter finish. Old school DIPA.

(Had a bomber recently and it was even better than the growler I had last.year - so bitter, but so tasty) Growler - clear light copper - minimal head and lacing - nose is dank as all get out - dank, resinous, pine, earth, grapefruit, orange zest - clean, moderate sweetness underneath to balance - lean, clean malt sweetness up front sets the stage for the hops and then gets the hell out of the way - dries out pretty significantly as some potent citric and woody hops arrive on the scene, bringing strong bitterness, but no abrasiveness, as is so often the case in these big ipas - moderate sweetness returns to balance in the finish - very well-masked alcohol - my only complaint is that the body is a little light, making it far too easy to drink for something so strong - quite a bit of tropical character as it warms - slight oiliness near the finish - extreme and strong, but balanced and easy to drink - I don’t often like double ipas these days, but when I do, they taste like this.

Location: Sampled at Tap NY, 4/27/13, Rating #3000!
Aroma: The nose is full of hops with some citrus/tropical fruits as well as pine/resin
Appearance: This one pours a clear golden-orange color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is similar, with a big fruity flavor, decent sweetness, and a big bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium, and it has a really nice, easy to drink mouthfeel to it
Overall Impression: I decided to make my favorite beer from Tap rating #3000. Anyway, great job with this one guys! One of the best new IIPAs that I have tried recently, and an absolute standout of a beer. I have nothing but good things to say here.

Keg at The Pony Bar UES, NYC. Pours hazy gold with a stingy, creamy white head. Aroma holds a good bit of dried citrus, lemon, spices, pine needles. Big sweet flavor, rich and semi-ripe citrus, spices, ginger, pale malts and bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with decent piney resins, further spices, flowers, sugar, salt, lemon and orange, grapefruit. Pretty ballsy stuff through and through.
