Panty we want to be a rich stout that is still an easy drinker. Roasted, caramelized and some rye malts enhance the body of this beer. Together with Cascade hops the flavours of Panty are mostly roasty, chocolately and licorice-like.

Bierfestival Groningen, 9.04.2016. Really black with a small beige head. Some roasted malt on the nose. Taste starts with smooth toasted malt, present licorice and coffie. Fruity sweetness, crisp, nice.

Small beige rim over brown-purplish lined black beer. Liquorice, old gymps, undergrowth, dried herbs, some smokiness and light roast. Dry roast, short impression as finish ia slightly sweet and rather empty. Again liquorice, sweeter warming up. The smokiness from the nose returns here as Lapsan Souchong, whilst the dried herbs more and more suggest mint. Medium bodied at best, if quite slick. Aftertaste is bitterish-roasted, and yet sweet - good balance. Light - but deceitfully enticing.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours black, thin off-white head. Aroma is coffee and roast. Taste follows, with quite a thin almost watery mouthfeel, more coffee and soy sauce. Bit too thin to be enjoyable. Not great.

0.1 l on tap at ’Craft & Draft’. Almost black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan to brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of milk chocolate, nougat, hazelnut and vanilla. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of milk chocolate, nougat, hazelnut and vanilla, followed by a short, slightly bitter, roasty finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, flat. Nice!

At Borefts and two years later at Oedipus Taproom itself, respectively from tap and bottle. ’Double’ stout with thick, creamy, yellowish beige head and very dark blackish appearance but still largely translucent with warm mahogany hue. Aroma of espresso, bayleaf, leather, butterscotch, brambleberry jam, hazelnut, chocolate sauce, black pepper, liquorice; sweetish taste with light umami accent, full and creamy mouthfeel, deep caramelly, very nutty and (bitter) chocolatey maltiness, light peppery and herbal hops in the finish with some roasted bitterness and minerally notes. Elegant and very tasty stout.
