Handpull cask at the Criterion, Leicester. Light to mid-brown. Clear. Not a lot of the off-white head - just a film really - but there's lots of lacing. Malty caramel scent with a touch of glue resin. There's some strong chestnut as well. Taste is a bit of a let down: it's sweet but there's an off vegetal flavour. Slight sourness in the finish. It's not great.

Cask at the Wild Boar. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is floral, medicinal hop, some yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth yeast, light medicinal, light fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Got the impression there was more yeast in this than there should have been.
