Bottle from Dortmunder, with my thanks. Pale colored. Cake dough aroma. Sweetish and malty, somewhat alcoholic. A slight hoppiness. Stony. Only medium bodied but with a thick mouthfeel. Tastes good, but by no means perfect.

Thin light beige head left a spotty cover on a light amber coloured body. Sweet spicy aroma with malt & stewed fruit. Medium to full bodied, sticky, greasy with minimal carbonation & a clean finish. Malt, brown sugar, grape, sweet citrus & dates with a long bitter finish.

0.33 l bottle at ’Vormann Brauereiausschank’. Clear, deep golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, malty aroma of honey, caramel and some butterscotch. Quite sweet, malty taste of caramel, honey, butterscotch and a touch of vanilla, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, almost average carbonation. Quite unusual, very pale and well-carbonated, but also very quaffable.

Bottle(Festival Dortmunder Bierkultur): Deep golden to light amber coloured, smaller stable white head; burnt malt, molasses and some caramel in the mild sweet-bitter nose; light(!) to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, pretty thin for a beer of 8.0%; shorter and drier sweetish and bitter caramelly finish. A very tame Doppelbock…and presumably an alias of Vormann Doppelbock(same ABV, same "Gourmet-Flasche")!

Golden colour, mighty malty and also alcoholic nose; sweet only in the beginning; full bodied, that’s understood; some traces of hops can be felt distictively, but are not too dominant; quite easy drinkable for a beer of this strenght; not very long-lasting aftertaste. Fair. Rerate 04/08: Deep golden, a bit unclear, smaller, but persistent and lacy off-white foam; malty and solid "medical" hoppy nose; robust bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering "medical" hoppy finish with a malty support. Very decent, well rounded, easy drinkable Doppelbock.............

Bottle shared at home. Clear golden with short lasting white head. Sweet malts and toffee, quite herbal, bitter leaves, some bitter yeast too. Under medium sweet with vegetal bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

330ml bottle. Clear, golden colour with small to average, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, strawy, grainy aroma, a touch of honey. Taste is slightly sweet malty, minimally grainy, a honey touch, alcoholic clouds.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein kräftig goldenes Bier mit winzigen Schwebeteilchen und ordentlicher weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, blumig, leicht alkoholisch. Geschmack sehr malzig, reife Früchte, getreidig, den Alkoholgehalt spürt man leicht.
