From the booth at le mondiale 2011. Amber pour with a light brown head. Aroma of cold coffee right off the bat. This is all coffee. Cold coffee, esspresso, fresh ground coffee beans, mani couldnt get my nose out of this, the best coffee aromaive ever had the pleasure to smell in a beer. The flavor was well....more coffee! Imagine that! There were some nice bready malts though too. The fnish of this beer reminded me of a strong german bock, flavoured with coffee. Awesome stuff!

Dark brown coloured body with a thin off-white single centimetre tall off-white. Aroma of toasted malt, brown and caramelised sugars with a big note of coffee pulp along with some earth and funky cardboards. Medium-bodied; Assertive flavours of coffee, earth, grain and alcohol along with some toasted malt and earthiness and some pungent bitterness mostly from the coffee, but a touch of the hops noticeable. Aftertaste shows some grain, a bit of earthy funk, some noticeable caramelised sugars and pitted fruits and a big dose of coffee at the end, from the greens and the pulp rather than from anything brewed. Overall, an interesting ’winter’ beer that shows more of a lighter Ale, similar to a Mild, with a distinct coffee flavour and some toasted malts. Decent, but not worth flying back with in a bag - I’m happy I drove this one home. I sampled this 20.4 ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 01-July-2016 for US$5,95 sampled at home in Washington a day before leaving back for New York on 21-November-2016. Batch #3938 Packaged Date: Nov 24 (14? Fell off side of label)

New Beer Distributors, NYC 20 ounce bottle: Pours slightly hazy amber brown with a big off-white head. Aroma is sugary malts foremost, hints of coffee, some ambiguous fruitiness. and bread. Taste is more interesting and more complex than the aroma. It is a tad sweet at the front, then hits you with what is clearly the coffee grounds, but also it imparts a sort of herbal taste here. The aftertaste is very mild, but almost like dark chocolate. This is the best Beau’s beer I’ve had, and I say that because I really didn’t like the first two I drank.

Bottle - Spice and cocoa. Deep dark amber with a rich beige head. Toast, roast and spice with a little bite in the finish. Odd, but quite nice.

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color ale with a huge light brown foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of floral dry coffee notes is quite strong and dominated any other characteristics. Taste is also dominated by floral coffee notes with just the right amount of astringency. Body is light with good carbonation. Very well brewed though I am not enough of a coffee junky to appreciate this to the full extent.

(650mL bottle from LCBO) Poured clear brownish amber with a good-sized whitish bubbly head. Aroma is coffee, but not in the way that most darker coffee beers are, more like a bag of medium roast grounds. A little caramel malt in the background, and slight hops fruitiness (or just coffee). Flavour again strongly coffee-forward at the start, with earthiness and roast (coffee, not malt). Some amber ale caramel malts in there, a bit toasty, slight tree fruit. Finish slightly hoppy/coffee bitter but honestly not much going on for flavour after halfway, ends limp. Medium carbonation, very watery mouthfeel, not much substance or heft. I like the coffee elements but I could smell a bag of good beans, brew a nice cup and be happier than with this beer.
