With over 2 lbs of hops per barrel, the nose and finish on this beer are dominated by notes of grapefruit, pine, and lemon. The late hop additions make it dangerously drinkable.

12oz can. Old, resinous, dieselrific. Sugary sweet old school English yeast IIPA. In no way enjoyable in the shape it is in, probably nto so great fresh either. Quite malty. Not that good. Generous score.

Ever so slightly hazy peach and copper coloured body with a relatively thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, tons of resin, a good deal of astringency and pungent metallic notes showing some light fruits towards the end, but the alcohol shows through most of everything - with a lot evident. Medium-bodied; Slightly bitter and metallic flavour at first with a lot of alcohol and astringency later on, but the biscuity and slightly grainy malt comes through with a lot of dry funk showing some floral and herbal elements, but the body and especially the alcohol and astringency are by far stronger with some light medicinal sweetness at the end as well. Aftertaste shows the depth from the malts with a lot of bitterness and pungent funk towards the end, but showing a relatively good balance of malt and hops throughout. Overall, a decent enough IPA with more malt than hops, but the alcohol and astringency makes this a bit off from what you'd expect - but pretty in-line with an East Coast IPA. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 21-November-2018 for US$1,69 sampled at my house in Washington while getting presents for my kids underneath the tree on Christmas Eve, 2018.

Draft @ Winberie’s, Princeton NJ. 8oz. Tulip shows a hazy orange color. Aroma is grapefruit peel, weak pine, and candied oranges.

No surprise with the flavor, it is a carbon copy of the aroma. The pine is assertive in the finish and shows resin. Bitterness lingers for a good duration.

At the source: pours copper with a white head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Tste is very piny and pretty bitter. Kind of unbalanced with some off tastes happening. Thicker than your average IPA. Cannot say that the alcohol is well covered either.
