Sample at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2013. Hazy deep golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of earth, light noble hops, bread, biscuit, apples and brett. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of barnyard, bread, light noble hops and earth. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice but not that close to Orval.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours golden amber with a frothy off-white head. Sharp brett aroma. Med body. Flavor is quite brett with a lot of pine/citrus. Really gets your attention. Finishes brett and hoppy bitter. Amazingly good ale.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 11.2oz ($3.65): Pours orange with a loose white head. Aroma is a nice slightly funky, aromatic yeast, with some fruitiness and champagne elements. Taste is lightly bitter, with a nice soft bite to it. Slightly sweet. Nice finish. Rather refreshing. I was expecting something way more boring from this, but it turned out to be a generally well-made Belgian ale.

33 cl. bottle @ Gollem. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Sweet malt taste, light brett, caramel, bitter spices, bread, it is bitter but not really getting American hops, some sugar, earth, black pepper, light fruit, hay & some wood. Carb. is a touch lively. Not bad but I am not getting anything even remotely to Orval – maybe that is just me.
