After resting for nearly a year in Apple Brandy barrels, this Imperial Porter brewed in honor of our first anniversary took on notes of smoked marshmallow and candied cherries, adding layers of complexity to its roasted malt character.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up via trade in NJ. Aged a good few years now. Pours black-brown with a modest, fading beige foam head. Sweet and rounded, with light ashy roast, alcohol, cola, ripe dark fruits, raisins, some burnt toffee, cocoa. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more lightly ashy roast, alcohol, dried berries, bittersweet cocoa. Tasty stuff overall.
