In 1998, Hugues Dubuisson introduced a new Bush aimed at lovers of blonde beer. The launch commemorated the 65th anniversary of the Bush Caractère, introduced to the market all those years ago by his grandfather, Alfred.

And thus the Bush Triple was born. This filtered, top-fermented beer fits into the ranks alongside the Bush Caractère and the Bush de Noël. The Bush Triple is the fruit of the same expertise and the same house yeast. However, this blonde has her own unique personality.

The use of traditional malt varieties and the well-known Saaz hops gives the beer its clear blonde colour. We see the development of a subtle, but at the same time very well- balanced, palette of aromas and tastes. The lengthy fermentation process increases the alcohol volume to 10.5%, but at the same time produces a beer that is very easy to digest.

From the bottle Light orange with a white frothy head that soon fades. Aroma is a bit floral. Yeasty. Taste is mildly bitter with notes of caramel, apples, metals. Medium body. Warming. Not worth wasting my alcohol quota for the night on.

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy golden pour, one finger frothy off-white head. Excellent retention, really long lasting. Nice and thick lacing on the glass. Nose is bready with notes of bubblegum and caramel. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Thick and creamy texture, fizzy mouthfeel. Taste is more on the sweet side with bitterness coming mostly from alcohol. Aroma is malty and boozy. Caramel and toffee, sugar, bread. Yeast. Wheat and grass. Notable alcohol, warming and producing a lingering burn on the tongue. Slight metal in the aftertaste. Long finish. Overall, quite ok. A bit unbalanced with strong alcohol presence dominating the palate, otherwise pretty good.

Bottle. Amber, grey haze, solid offwhite cream. Grape, boozy notes, wood and corianderseed aroma. Medium light foamy/fizzy body. Wooden dry on the forefront, higher alcohol/fermented fruit notes, phenolic, a hint bandaid, light fizzy finish. Muddled, boozy. Not that impressive.

0.33l bottle. Golden body with a thick white head that last surprisingly long for a 10.5 ABV beer. Aroma and taste of bready, grainy malts, some nuttyness and a tiny bit of grassy hops. It has a strong sugar syrupy character too and the alcohol content is evident. Not harsh, but warming. I also notice some fruits to it (mostly pears). OK beer, but not something you would remember forever.

2013 vintage. Mycket gott.
