If you’ve ever seen a professional, male brewer, odds are you’ve seen a beard. There is some magical, unspoken connection between folks that make beer for a living and folks that dig on facial hair. We could dig a little deeper on that but we’re busy making beer...and mostly having beards.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a nice light tan head, about two centimetres tall. Aroma of nuts, earth, grain and a little cream. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty and malty flavours at first with a nice balance of sweetness shown at the end along with a rich complexity of cream, sweetness and earthy/nutty malts. Aftertaste shows a good malt quality with plenty of sugars and complexity. Overall, a very nice brown and one that was very nice to sample - definitely well worth bringing back in your suitcase from the South! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Charleston Beer Exchange in Charleston, South Carolina on 20-April-2015 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on 22-October-2015.

12 oz can purchased as a single at Wine & Cheese, If You Please? on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The pour is a hazed brown copper with a one inch well formed tan head. The aroma is tangerine citrus hop, resin and caramel malt. The taste is the citrus resin hop up front, followed by some dry floral and nutty malt. Some toast character as the beer warms. The palate is medium to light bodied with fine active carbonation and the resin floral dry finish. Nice, fun and unique.

This brew pours a dark reddish-brown color with a think foamy beige head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a roasted malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
