Bottle. Pours dark brown with beige head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is fruits, roast, malt. Flavor is sweet, fruits, malt, coffee. Overall: ok

Bottle 330 ml. Brown color wit good head. Aroma and taste: malt, caramel and coffee, toffee and dried fruits.

Pours a dark coppery brown color, topped with a hefty beige colored head, nice retention. Very mild chocolate and caramel aroma, slight dust. Taste is slightly chocolatey, medium full body, not really sweet with some spicy finish. Alcohol nicely hidden. Decent.

Another interesting Dutch beer company. Bottle from an Albert Heijn supermarket. Medium sized, lightly lacing, pale beige, dense head over a clear but eventually hazy, deep wine red coloured beer with purple hue, warm and attractive. Sweet and spicy bouquet of chocolate cookies, toasted bread, caramel, raisins soaked in rhum, dried banana, hazelnut paste, ruby port, cinnamon, a whiff of coffee, wooden furniture and whisky. Smooth, sweetish onset of dried plums, banana, blackcurrant and dates, finely tingling carbonation, spicy ’stings’ of alcohol already at the beginning but subtle enough not to disturb; lean caramelly malt base ensues and gradually becomes more toasted and more nutty, ending even in a roasted bitterness, lightly coffeeish, with a nice peppery and leafy hop bitterishness adding drought, and a fairly strong dosis of ’jenever’-like alcohol, warming the throat and even burning a bit. The alcohol is way too obvious in this one, should have been much better hidden in a 7.1% ABV beer, but other than that, this is a warming, gently bittersweet brew, indeed hovering somewhere between a typical sweet and caramelly dubbel and a lightly roasted porter. Enjoyed it in spite of the alcohol overtone.

Bottle at home, black beer with a small head, aroma is hoppy, citrus. Taste is citrus, chocolate, coffee, very nice.

Clear red brown beer, irregular beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, caramel, chlorine, dried fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel malts, dried fruits, some chocolate, spicy. Aftertaste: hoppy, pretty bitter, some banana, caramel, dry.

Bottled, thanks MrHangover! Hazy nut brown, small head. Spicy nose with sme caramel. Mid sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Spicy grass, some caramel, distinct bitter finish.

Bottle at Reijngoud, Rotterdam, Sunday 15th March 2015 in company of Dad & Barry Murky amber with a light brown’ish’ head. A touch sweet but also a little yeasty. Some malt, chocolate and a little coffee combine well. Pleasant beer. A7 A2 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4
