Tuborg Fine Festival is a strong pilsner, originally produced for the English market to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953. It was introduced to Denmark in 1955 where it lives a quiet, but distinguished life as a luxury beer for connoisseurs. The taste unfolds nicely and distinctive and is more dominated by alcohol than by sweetness. The scent is marked by cereal with hints of licorice and grape fruit. When poured in a glass, the color appears light golden and amber with a white foam.

Clear golden with a medium white head. Sweet aroma with malty and mild hoppy notes. Flavour is quite hoppy and the sweet malt balanced the alcohol quite well. Fairly bitter finish. Not bad.

Picked this up in a supermarket in Denmark consumed at home 23-09-08 Pours golden in colour. Strong, malty industrial lager another of my bargain basement buys, another pretty ropey beer.

botlte, aroma is cereral like it was a low alc. come on..., clear yellow, thick white head, flavor is sweet, sugar, alcohol, not much bitterness. distinct macro feel to it (bad), overall a beer that i guess was made to get people drunk at low cost, which it probably will accomplish.

330ml bottle shared with Finn A. at the Carlsberg Visitors Centre in Copenhagen. Clear straw coloured body under a thin white head. Weak in aroma, but some oily notes come through. Little more than a bite of citric malts in flavour partly overrun by alcohol (29.05.2008).

Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer with a small, white head. Malty-sweet, fruity nose with hops as well. The flavor has a good deal of alcohol, with pale malt and grassy hops. Medium mouthfeel. Quite unpleasant bitterness in the finish, as well as alcohol. I think I heard that this beer was made to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. If that’s true, it is certainly a majestic insult. (070528)

(33 cl bottle, brought home from Denmark) Clear straw yellow color, white head. Grainy and alcohol scent. Sweet taste and aftertaste. Normal mouth feel. Low bitterness. Not much to cheer for.
