Tuborg Fine Festival is a strong pilsner, originally produced for the English market to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953. It was introduced to Denmark in 1955 where it lives a quiet, but distinguished life as a luxury beer for connoisseurs. The taste unfolds nicely and distinctive and is more dominated by alcohol than by sweetness. The scent is marked by cereal with hints of licorice and grape fruit. When poured in a glass, the color appears light golden and amber with a white foam.

Pretty aged sample Huge, fluffy, just off-white head; hazy orange beer with olive shine. Nutty nose, and yet some quite fresh, leafy, unedible green berries flavours. Nutty taste, buttery, hazelnuts, and dry-spicey; dry green spices flavours. Light but nowhere empty. Ends a bit slick, but not much. Another amazingly aged lager. There is no NEED to age pilsners. And there’s nothing AGAINST it.

Bottle from Mette from Denmark. I’m kind of with tiggmtl on this one. It is not as bad as the score suggests. Golden colour with thin white head. Rubbery aroma smells like a car garage. Some hop if you try. OK in mouth. Bit syrupy, but ok European strong lager. Quite refreshing and the aroma improves as it oxidizes releasing some lemon and peach

Bottled. Bright golden, brief creamy head. Sugar and corn dominates from the nose and on, with sugar getting the upper hand for a while until alcohol starts to take over. The mouthfeel is syrupy, and the finish vodka-like. Utter crap.

(Bottle 33 cl) I remember this used to be my favourite brew, when I was a kid - or teenager, if you prefer. Well, a lot has happened since then.
Fully golden, not much head. Sweetish malt and very alcoholic. Very classical Danish strong lager - a pilsener speeded up with brewing syrup. 050304
