Black with a light brown head. Caramel, licorice, anise in the aroma. Sweet and quite alcoholic flavour, with lots of licorice. When I drink a 10% beer I want more complexity than this.

Pitch black with fine brown head. Aroma is liquirice, chocolate & coffee. Burnt malts. Fine filling smooth body. Somehow metallic flavor in the end that is not pleasant. But overall well made & enjoyable!

Draught at KØ07. Black colour, small brown head. The flavour is OK, quite mild with a little chocolate. One could say too mild, as it does not taste its 9.8% ABV. 5 3 6 3 13

Bottle, 8.5%. Weak fruity aroma. Almost black colour. Stable light brown head. The flavour is slightly salty with a mild salt liquorice note. Quite mellow. Hard roasted finish. 6 3 6 3 15

CBF07 sample from tap. Pours deep black/brown with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavour is malty and clearly chocolate thick and sweet. Goes sweet to dry into the finish. Lacks something in the palate to be very interesting, but a good brew.

(On tap) Clear, warm, reddish brown with a dense, beige head. Roasted malt aroma - slightly burned. Distinctly full-bodied with lots of sweetish, roasted malt - and again the burned edge is present albeit timid. Sugary finish. OK, and really hides its alcohol surprisingly well. But it dares a little too little. 130507

Bottled at Københavnske Øldage. Black, brief head. Resiny and oily. Thick and very sweet with cloying syrupy mouthfeel. Bland cocoa flavour, tastes mostly of syrup. Resiny harsh finish. Extremely simplistic. A role model for beers I don’t like.
