One of the better Dutch bock beers, tasty for its style. Has a somewhat deep taste of dark malt and spices.

From tap at the brewpub as 7.1%. Pours hazy brown with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty, oxidised. Light fruity, caramelish and phenolic. Mild bitter and yeasty to fruity. Dry and roasted finish.

Bottle @ benzai. Hazy copper with a beautiful, creamy beige head. Smells sweetish, some spices, malty. Tastes very sweet initially, bitter, chocolate, slightly roasty. Medium body, low carbo.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus and Thompson. Unclear dark red color, full sized creamy dense beige head that lasts for a long while. Smell malts, toasted malts, caramel. Taste malts, caramel, nice medium bitter, lightly sweetish. Lightly roasty, bitter and chocolate in the aftertaste. Pretty nice. Medium body, nice carbonation.

Bottle shared from ABC Beers. Pours cloudy brown with a tan head. Aroma of licorice, malts, cocoa and grain. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at PINT BBF’12. Dark brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of a bag of grains, barley, cocoa, laurel, liquorice, light dusty. Flavour is roasted malts, cocoa, some burnt caramel, grain, laurel, liquorice, bitter roasted finish, light sticky. Medium bodied at best. Nice and tasy.
