A surprisingly light stout with the aroma of coffee and malt it also has rich liquorish flavours. Good match with most meat dishes but almost a meal in itself!

Bottle from Melbecks Garden Centre, Coleshill. Pours a ruby brown with virtually no head. Aroma of malts, berries, caramel, citrus, funk. Taste of funky yeast, lemon, malts, light coffee, very tangy. Medium bodied with a low carbonation, almost flat. Not very nice. Something is very wrong with this one from appearance to taste. Probably infected.

Spotty light brown head on a dark brown coloured body. Treacle, liquorice & raisin aroma. Medium to thin film, soft with a tingle on the back. Malt, treacle, liquorice, roasted & nutty tastes with a sweeter fruity finish. Quite moorish.

Bottle from the Shops at Dartington. Appearance - slightly lively off white head om top of deep brown body. Light orange chinks. Nose - funky chocolate amd nuts. Taste - nuts again, still with a funky edge. Palate - medium bodied, very wild and funky on the middle section. Tangy finish. Overall - not sure this is how the brewer intended. A wild yeast issue perhaps.
