An abundance of fresh, natural fruit flavor makes this beer something special. You would think we picked the fruit moments before brewing.

Pours dark mahogany into a Sam glass. Tan head with medium retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Chocolate covered cherry aromas. Flat with toast and nuts and a nasty, lasting sour cherry pit finish. A little too much age on this one. Drain pour.

Very last bottle from Erikβs Grocery Bag in North Canton. Pours a dark mahogany-brown with a thin off-white head that disappears fairly fast except for an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of dark fruits and malt. Medium body with a raspberry character and notes of sweet malt and hops. The finish is very berry. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours a thin brown with little head and aromas of berries... thatβs it... just berries. Flavor is better than Smashin Berry, but still a little bit too much on the berries. There is a bit of dark malt that peeks through the raspberry/blackberry/strawberry patch, but this is still overly berried and comes across as too artificial.

Purply-brown colour. Syrupy and not much else. Blackberry, chocolate...boring...ultra sweet. Argh - fruit beer does not inherently have to such, but the brewer needs to make an effort.
