Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with cacao nibs and vanilla beans

The reign of Black Tuesday was destined to grow with the creation of Chocolate Rain. This decidedly decadent version of our bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout was treated with TCHO cacao nibs and juicy, fresh vanilla beans. Rich in chocolate and vanilla, with hints of oak, it truly puts the “imperial” in imperial stout.

Bottle shared with the KL Tasting Crew. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a round bubbly white head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate, over ripe red berry fruits, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, fruity, raisin, warm boozy alcohol palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Tap at the Beertemple. Dark with minimal tan ring head. Big sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, massive boozy notes and big sweet burnt sugars, cinnamon and pepper in the background. Big sweet and crazy but somehow it holds up some balance. D-a-n-g-e-r-o-u-s! Loving it though. Sticky toothwrecking dark toffee. Big sweet and awesome. I’m getting rosy cheeks. I feel immortal. I’m gonna undress and run out into the streets.
