Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy red-pink color. Tart raspberry aroma leading into tannic field, dry, weak, overly carbonated, with astringent final.
Not a fan.

Bottle - Nice sweet candy raspberry. Cloudy pink with a decent white head. Oft raspberry and a touch of leaf. Soft and pleasant.

Pink, hazy. I definitely get a lot of the raspberry. Some tartness, touch of yeast, the basil does come through a bit. There’s a bit of bitterness, but some nice balance. The body is a bit light, and fizzy, but otherwise this is good.

500mL bottle, pours an opaque bright pink with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart raspberries and light basil. Flavour is spicy and fruity, with tart raspberries, spicy basil, and lacto. Fresh, fruity and spicy in good balance. Bright palate, with a lightly tart finish. Very good.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy reddish/orange/light pink color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lightly tart raspberry, lemon, lime, pineapple, pear, fruit skin/seeds, basil, herbal, wheat, bread, hay, grass, light musty funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, raspberry/basil, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart raspberry, lemon, lime, pineapple, pear, fruit skin/seeds, basil, herbal, wheat, bread, hay, grass, light musty funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/acidic tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart raspberry, lemon, lime, pineapple, pear, fruit skin/seeds, basil, herbal, wheat, bread, hay, grass, light musty funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, raspberry/basil, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from tart/spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderate creamy/grainy, and lightly acidic/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent fruited Brett wild ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, raspberry/basil, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced tartness. Definitely needs more time for the Brett character to develop further, but there is still a really nice profile right now. A very enjoyable offering.
