Pours hazy light pineapple into a tulip. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Lemony funk aromas. Dry with sour lemon/lime upfront turning to funky, dry earth before the lasting lemon pith finish.

Draught at the BA Belgian Beer Fest, 9/17/16.
Hazy, brassy-golden body with a big white head on top that shows moderate retention.
So Idle Hands/Enlightenment kept an FV with a house blend of continually used and evolving yeast blend of saison and brett yeasts; from what I understand Verdance was the final beer to come out of that, back at their old property on Charlton Street. This is the revival of that blend in their new facility and thus we have a Verdance-like saison here.
In the nose it shows playful brett, with light band-aid, lime and guava mixing with plentiful esters from the Sacc. and finally lightly grainy, biscuity, nicely attenuated malts. Light pepper, some minor dough and a big fruitiness lingering, it’s only lightly tart, with no alcohol or flaw. Not quite the pure, lush, tour de force of Brett that was Verdance, but there are light hops thrown in here, just like with Verdance and it’s bright and playful and quite complex.
In the mouth it’s a bit loose and unpolished, with an, at times, grainy texture. Good attenuation, of course, with plentiful lime and band-aid-like brett notes as well as a strong minerality, pepper and fruit profile from the saison yeasts. Nectarine and pineapple lingering, with light tartness, guava and lime. Quite a bit rougher around the edges and unfocused than Verdance, but promising and I’m sure they’ll get back to that level and surpass it in the near future.

4 oz. draft, Copenhagen Brewfest, Boston. 24 September 2026. Hazy yellow color, weak white head. Aroma mild Brettanomyces, hints of citrus, light haystacks.
Flavor has some barnyard, funky white grapes, notes of floral character. Crisp mouthfeel with a light dry zesty texture. Softer mouthfeel.
