Draught at Brewer’s Fork, 10/23/15.
A whopping $11 for 13 ounces of a local IPA. Won’t be going back to Brewer’s Fork any time soon, that’s for sure. However, that’s neither here nor there. The beer is a rather hazy golden-copper color with a moderate amount of white head with moderate retention.
Green onion, tangerine, a big helping of malt lending a sugar cookie character and mixing with the hops to give off notes of pineapple and mango. With more warming, it grows quite piney/citrusy to the point where the more interesting notes are driven off. No alcohol nor flaw.
Quite malty and borderline sweet, though I suppose one could just write this off as "juiciness". Doughy, sedimented texture with moderate to moderately low carbonation. Pineapple, grapefruit and some leafy, earthy, dank notes, as noted, but also some monotonous pine and orange rind. Heavy acidity, borderline astringency build up on the finish. Some alcohol even. Really haven’t been wowed by Foundation’s hoppy offerings at all. They’re not bad, but they’re certainly mid-tier at best; just way too much acidity, a heavy-handed malt signature and dominated by pine and citrus. Would MUCH rather have a Wanderlust or an Eddy.

LSAT Freedom Trip #119. Keg at the brewery. Hazy orange, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of grapefruit zest, tropical fruit, lime, caramel and grainy malt. The taste is tropical fruits, nuts, caramel, grapefruit. Medium bodied, dry lingering bitterness, juicy.

Tap at Kings Arms, Portland. It pours cloudy deep orange with a thick yellow - white house. The nose is fresh, sticky, juicy, resinous, grassy, stewed orange, peach, dirty nectarine and sherbet. The taste is bitter, sticky, juicy, dank, toasty grass, grapefruit, burnt orange, touch of sherbet and some decent alcohol boost with a bitter - dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. A bit boosty, but very alright anyhow.
