Imperial Stout with deep chocolate and big roast flavors that takes on hints of dark fruit as it warms. Medium body and clean finish.

75cl bottle @ Belgian Beer Geeks Winter Gathering. Pours black, tan head. Rich chocolate and coffee on the nose. Flavour profile encompasses thick stodgy coffee cake, grainy moments.. proper.

1/III/25 - 75cl bottle @ Belgian Beer Geek Gathering (2025 Winter/Spring edition), BB: n/a, rather old vintage (2025-199) Thanks to ElManana+1 for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: good roast up front, quite some alcohol, earthy, oxidized, some chocolate notes. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bitter, good roast, alcohol, lots of cocoa powder, dark chocolate, hoppy bitterness. Aftertaste: more roast, alcohol, bitter, chocolate, coffee notes, caramel touch, dry finish. Decent, but alas has aged for a bit too long, I’m afraid.

Got in a BIF from MacMalt. 750 ml bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with amazing retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, nuttiness, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of vanilla, molasses, wood smoke, charcoal, raisin, plum, fig, leather, tobacco, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Amazing aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, nuttiness, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of vanilla, molasses, wood smoke, charcoal, raisin, plum, fig, leather, tobacco, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, nuttiness, toasted dark/brown bread, light molasses/smoke, dark fruit, leather, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an amazing roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is insane. Slight sticky hops and chalky roast. Minimal warming alcohol for 10.9%. Overall this is an insane imperial stout! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Extremely rich and complex, and not overly bitter/charred on hops or black/roast malts. The mouthfeel was pretty much perfect. Easily one of the best standard no frills American imperial stouts I have ever had. A really mind blowing offering.
