Inky black in color, this Imperial Stout has aromas of sweet rum, vanilla, and toasty oak. Full flavors of almond and dark chocolate, finished with boozy run, create a deliciously drinkable treat.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre tall rich brown head tha fades relatively quickly and doesn't leave anything on top. Aroma of oats, a ton of anise, licorice and grain with a big alcohol and pungent ouzo character along with a dose of light caster sugar and even some notes of lactose and milk sugars. Lightish to Medium-bodied; Mild and subdued mushroomy, meaty and grainy malts throughout with a roast quality, some raisins, figs, grapes, milk, alcohol with a peaty and even a bit of a lightly smoked profile with some meats and vanilla tucked away at the end with a bit of pungent grain and malt flavour with bitterness and little else at the tail end. Aftertaste shows more of the anise and peat than anything else - not many sugars here and not much pungency, which is in all honesty, a good thing, but slightly off to see it this thin and subdued, especially just after ~two years this tastes as mild as an Imperial Stout at ~5 years. A good offering, and aged nicely with a very subdued profile, as what I was hoping for, but a touch too thin and too mild and simplistic. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 24-March-2015 for US$9,99 when my second kid was just two months old, now I've got three kids with that one being more than 3, sampled at home in Washington on 07-April-2018.

Bomber. Pours black with a large brown head. Smells of chocolates and coffee with a hint of fruit and smoke. Taste is heavy chocolate, some fruit, a good bit of smoky rubber. It's good but not my favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle pours an opaque, deep brown with some foamy, off white head. Nose has roasted malts, lots of dark bread, chocolate, quite nutty, a lot of almond, some dried fruit. Flavor has chocolate, toasted bread, roasted malts, some toffee sweetness, raisin. Finishes a bit thin, which was disappointing.

Prune and almond dominated nose, with significant fudge and walnut underneath. Black, thin khaki head. Coffee and charred oak, with delightful almond accents. Medium body, easy carbonation. How refreshing! An extremely well made imperial stout that didn’t take short cuts.

Bomber from Beer Run. Pours a dark brown with a medium sized creamy brown head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, carob, nuts, cherries and stone fruits. The taste is chocolate, roasted malt, honey, nuts, mild fruits. Thin bodied, a hint of bitterness. Needs some dialing in. And yes, I rated this while listening to Southern Culture....
