Adnams’ interpretation of an American IPA, made with wheat and pale ale malts alongside hops from England, Slovenia and America (specifically Boadicea, Columbus and Stryian Goldings). It was created under the instruction of company chairman Jonathan Adnams, who simply requested, ‘Brew something to wow me’. It was originally intended as a limited edition release to commemorate the opening of Adnams’ new brewhouse and distribution centre, and now forms part of the core range.

Ambar clara, apenas turbidez. No mucha espuma. Aroma de predominio cereal con notas de piña. En boca cuerpo entre ligero y moderado. Bien de gas. El sabor es malteado, pan. Tira a dulce. Escaso contrapunto. Escaso amargor para una IPA, sólo un ligero amargor especiado. Buena ale en cualquier caso.

Bottle (from SIP, Tallinn). Pours amber with whiteish head. The head stays for a second. Aroma is sweet, fruits, caramel, slight citrus. Flavor follows the nose mostly, but also has some nuttinness. Finish is dry bitter. Body is surprisingly light for ABV, it feels even watery. Overall: OK

Bottle at Mish Mash in Penang. Cloudy orange Amber. Hoppy slightly grassy. Taste is like a Dutch IPA with a lot of malts and some tropical fruit hops on top. A bit soapy tasting. Not bad.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 14A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch HEP-1 14:22. AROMA: hop aroma with a floral and tropical fruity nature, reminiscent of sweet oranges. some resinous character is present. sweet caramelized malt background. APPEARANCE: light copper color and translucent. off-white thin head with low retention. TASTE: medium-low hop flavour with a floral and tropical fruit character. mild sweet malty background with toffee notes. medium-low bitterness that lingers into a medium-dry finish and beyond. PALATE: low body with low carbonation. OVERALL: an english IPA a bit on the diluted side. needs more body and flavour intensity.

Pours a clear orange color, topped with a decent white head. Retention ok. Malty aroma, some notes of fruits also in there. Starts with a hint of fruity sweetness, followed by a decent hoppy body and nice bitterness in the end. A good one. Nothing extra special about it, but still nice.
