The smooth notes of natural chocolate in King Porter Stomp are in perfect syncopation with the five different malts that provide the bass line of this robust beast. Medium-bodied with a chocolate aroma, King Porter Stomp is smooth as jazz.

Deep, dark brown coloured body with about 75 per cent opacity and a nice two to three centimetre tall rich brown head - very nice throughout. Aroma of pungent milk chocolate, lactose, nuts, earth, brown sugars, molasses and a dash of fruit and cherries at the end. Medium to almost Full-bodied; Rich deep roasted malts dominate with a lot of light spices, ranging from anise to allspice and a bunch of caramelised sugar notes with molasses the strongest and inishing out with some lactose, a strong nuttiness from walnuts and a touch of vanilla at the end. Aftertaste is quite complex, as well, with toffee, alcohol, grain and chocolate the strongest, but a wide-ranging hit of sugars to spices keep this interesting and complex, in a great way. Overall, a very nice beer, with tons of flavour, a great complexity AND depth, but still easy-ish drinking on one of the last cold-ish (lows in 30s, sad that in this town that is considered chilly) days of the season here in D.C. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 21--December-2019 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 22-March-2020.

Purple can from friend. Very dark nice rolling pour with a tan head. Smell is straight up fresh porter. Big creamy blast of fresh roasty flavor. Bitter, burnt bitter. Yes, kick you straight in duh ass and an uppercut to the back of the head. Leads to a long bitter finish in the back corners of the palate. Not sure if I detect the chocolate; maybe its that went damp old charred campfire wood thang that's been layin there on the ground for a few days. Becomes a little medicinal in the end. Overall its a difficult stronger porter, many of the attributes of a baltic.

On tap at brewery. Reddish brown color with a quickly disappearing tan head. Notes of cocoa and roasted malt in nose. Flavor is more of the same. Lightly carbonated with cocoa and dark malt. Some hoppy bitterness in mid taste. Nutty bittersweet cocoa finish.
