2017 édition. A deep dark stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, loads of dark fruits, chocolate, raspberry jam, light licorice, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of alcohol warmth, light licorice, raspberry, very nice and rich. Bottle.

Bottle - pours black tan head - nose and taste of almond, raspberry, chocolate and bourbon - megium body

Bottle, shared at Northern Monk, picked up at the brewery. Very dark brown. Ring of tan bubbles. Nose has raspberry chocolate. Sweet vanilla bourbon. Bit of a Bakewell tart thing going on, which probably means nothing to the brewers! Taste is sweet mostly, with a nice raspberry tartness. Mouthfeel is light for the ABV. Silky, though. Light, raspberry chocolate to finish. Super easy drinking. Great beer. Light on the oak, and breezy clean.

The appearance was a dark brown almost black color.
The aroma starts with some sweet to roasty dark and milk chocolate, warm toast, coffee bean with some sweet vanilla, subtle raspberry and a light almond nutty sweetness.
The flavor brings in those aromas sweetly with a nurturing roast. Raspberry sweet and tart. Clean boozy almond milk-like aftertaste with the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sipping quality about it. Carbonation seems fairly light. Booziness also seems pretty light as well. Smooth milky feels roam along my tongue.
Overall, damn nice imperial stout that I would love to have again. Possible breakthrough for Vermont stouts to finally show the world that this state can make the high end stouts.
