For this Plzeň classic, it's all in the technique. Brilliantly gold with a creamy white head, this traditionally executed offering is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts, noble hops, Czech lager yeast, and a soft water profile. Floral and gently spicy hop aromatics are backed by a lightly bready malt that leads into the balanced complexity of a clean malt backbone with soft hop bitterness. With a long rounded finish, this offering continuously invites another taste.

Crisp and ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thick, super frothy pure white head that stretches about six centimetres straight up and leaves a very ugly lace. Aroma of bright citrus, lemons, fresh metallic and earthy malts with a biscuity and yeastie scent along with some herbal and more grassy and perfumey notes of fresh hops towards the end. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal flavours at first with a very dry and astringent hop flavour with the perfume and flowers coming through as well along with a light and airy malt flavour. Aftertaste shows a touch of pungency and astringent malt flavours from the metallic and slightly dry herbal flavours of the beer at first but they gives way to an adequate balance with a good deal of bitterness and pungency from the fresh malt and dry, light flavours. Overall, a nice and subdued grassy/dry beer with some nice malt and pungent aftertastes and palate towards the end, but easy enough to drink and well worth trying if you can find this one still or have a can of it somewhere. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 31-January-2018 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on 21-March-2018.
