The amber-coloured specialty beer Troubadour Magma has the aromatic and hoppy-bitter character of an American Indian Pale Ale, but is softened by the fruitiness of a Belgian Tripel. Enthusiasts appreciate the explosion of fruity scents from dry hopping.

I love hoppy IPA, this one is a little over the Top. Restrained nose, only hint's of Fruit and Lots of hops.

Bottle in a trade with tfontana. Color is brown with a orange hint. Aroma is all Belgian yeast with maybe toffee. I can’t find any hops at all. Even as it warms no hops. Belgian yeast, toffee, toasted grain. Alcohol massively noticed. If you’re looking for an IPA you’re not gonna get it here. Not a enjoyable hybrid for me. Hard forcing this down.

Bottle pour from Harvest Market, Bedford. Appearance is clear dark amber with nice sparkle, finger-width creamy beige head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is caramel and dark fruit, tart fruit. Taste follows aroma but no real tart contribution. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation, nice alcohol warmth and finish as taste with lasting dry European hop bitterness. Overall, this is really misclassified. They got cute trying to tie the bittering of the IPA in here, but this is a Triple/Tripel. Anyone looking for an American DIPA will be truly disappointed. Having said that, it looks great, aroma and taste are strong; a bit thin.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a murky orange colour with a medium to large foamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, floral and a little spice. Taste is more citrus and tropical fruit with notes of orange zest and peppery spice. Medium bodied with an oily mouthfeel and a long dry, bitter, citrus hop and spicy finish. Very nice

I had a walk to buy beer and some other stuff, and just returned home, this will be my first victim. Smell- medium strong and even to strong (as I can feel it away from glass/bottle), hops, citrus, caramel, yeast, Belgian notes all over, sweetness. Nice. Foam- thin to medium, soft, quite intense hit of hops and bittersweetness and then alcohol. Head is large, creamy white with an orange tint. Sticks. Appearance-unique brewer bottle cap with a nice coat of arms, bottle itself simple. Hazy orange-amber, some carbonation, maybe medium. From - Snifter Taste - caramel, citrus, malt, then hops, yeast, Belgian notes, and alcohol. Some sweetness, caramel, malt, hops in next hit. The aftertaste seems to be malt, hops, caramel, Belgian notes, and alcohol. Very good one, I like it, the general balance of it. I don't usually like hoppy beers, but this is mixed all right.

Bottle at the Poatersgat. Amber colour with off-white fluffy head. Aroma is big citrus US style hops, bit of spicy maltiness, cat pee too. Taste is similar, initial hop bitterness then more biscuity maltiness. Not as amazing as I remember it being, but still nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Troubadour Magma on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8.
