Hoppy Belgian-Style Ale
Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale. This wickedly good golden ale is fiendishly dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. Enjoy it, but you’ll want to keep an eye out.

PBF. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Citrusy-lemony aroma, grassy hoppyness. Nicey grassy, lemony (lemongrass!) flavor. Good backing maltyness. Sweetness. Some alcohol. Strong golden ale? Pleasant, but simple.

Bottled. Yellow colour, small head. Aroma is very much a Belgian tripel, and flavour much the same. A quite balanced and nice tripel. Pleasant thing.

750 ml. Hazy, golden body. Minimal white head mostly diminishing. Nice aroma of caramel, bread, toasted grain, fruits, floral hops, grass, citrus and lemon. The flavor is moderately sweet to lightly sweet and lightly acidic. It finishes moderately bitter, moderately sweet and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture turning slightly sticky, average carbonation. At first sip, the combination of acidity, hops and sweet fruits didn’t seem to work together. But halfway through, I changed my mind. By the time I finished, I wanted more. Somewhat pilsner like, but tart with floral notes with ipa bitterness. This is a beer that doesn’t wow you with a big aroma or big flavor, yet it all comes together. Dry, crisp finish. Excellent.
