The Lupulus Hibernatus is a dark strong beer. At the end of the boiling, the brewers add a pinch of cinnamon. The mix with torrefied barley brings this beer a powerful character. The After-taste is at the same time bitter-sweet, and finish on coffee aromas.

Draft: Poured a dark black color ale with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with some caramelized malt notes and some dried fruits. Taste is also a mix of caramelized sugar notes with some candi sugar and some dried fruit with light chocolate notes. Body is full for style with good carbonation and no discernible alcohol notes. Great dark belgian Strong ale with a good mix of complexity and drinkability.

Donkerbruin bier met mooie beige schuimkraag die lang blijft staan. Smaak is bitterzoet en kruidig met iets van anijs, drop, wat hout en toffee. Een heel goed bier.

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is dark malt with soft roast, hops, caramel, liquorice, dried fruits, laurel, mild spicy/herbal. Flavour is medium to heavy sweet with a relatively bitter finish. Body is medium. Very enjoyable Belgian Dark, I like the little hoppy notes.

Optisch dunkles braun, schöner Schaum. In der Nase Malzbier. Im Trunk sehr sehr malzig, nussig, Schnapspralinen. Trotzdem für die 9.5 Umdrehungen echt gut trinkbar.

Аромат слегка пряный, немного изюма, слегка суховат, много шоколада с нотками кофе. Цвет черный но просвечивается, пенка средняя. Вкус немного разочаровывает. Сразу минус в том что есть алкоголь при согреве до 15 градусов. При этом снова шоколад и немного кофе, намек на дерево. Но все равно почти без специй. И послевкусие из за алкашки слегка портится.

Bottle 0,75ltr: Very dark brown colored brew with an sweet and dry bitter taste. Hints of caramel, dried fruits and liquorice, great beer fromthe former owners of D’achouffe.

Big bottle. Hazy dark brown, brown cream. Creamy chocolate, licorice, dry caramel, broad citric minty hoppy, great balance, lovely, intense, like spritzy after eight.
