Bottle: Pored a dark reddish brown in color with a light brown head. Smell was a spicy floral malt aroma. Sweet overall with a dry bitter finish.

Bottled. Hazy mahogany colour, no head. Aroma of roasty malt and strawberry jam. Sweet with solid body and clean mouthfeel. Strawberry jam appears to be the one and only flavour. A straight forward very drinkable beer, where did the 9% go?

Reddish brown colour with a small head. Nice light aroma of malt and spice, slightly sour. Malty flavour of sweetness, spice and ends up with a alcoholic finish.

(Bottle 75 cl) The Abbaye d’Aulne beers used to be brewed by another brewery (I don’t remember which one) but are now made by Val de Sambre. The beer is chestnut brown, clear and appears filtered (possibly with a bit of sediment). Decent, slightly brownish head. Typically, fruity ale-character, nice nutty aroma with typical fullness and sweetness. An absolutely splendid christmas beer. 241203

Bottle. Fruit/berry aroma. Cloudy, chestnut colour. Not much head. Malty and slightly sweet flavour, reminding me of some sort of red berry. Slightly spicy. Too sweet aftertaste.

Amber color; giant head. Malt nose, spices, banana. Quite sweet, but not too thick; caramel and spices; very light roasted malt. Good, easy, Christmas beer.

A beutiful red beer with a beutiful head though the color gets unclear if you pour the yeast. The aroma is spicy with notes of cloves. The flavor is malt sweet (too sweet for me) with alcohol running over the tongue. It has a very low carbonation and the flavor is rather simple. An OK beer but too sweet.

Dark seasonal abbeybeer with an aroma of liquorice and blueberries. Something spicey, an tobacco tones as well. Sweet overall taste but with bitter overlying impression from the malts (and spices?).
