As a beer, the « Saison Framboise » is obtained by adding fermented raspberry juice until the maturation process is complete. Far from making it sirupy and sticky, the raspberry taste blends in elegantly with the fruity aroma of the beer and lends a touch of acidity which enhances the overall flavour. Bubbly and fresh, the « Saison Framboise » is an aperitif par excellence which quite rightly has its place at the dinner table, for example with duck breast salad or accompanying a dessert of peaches or melon, or even with dark chocolate.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Lots of raspberry, typical saison yeastiness. Hints of funk. Good tartness, not overdone at all. A bit murky in color.

Flaska från SB drygt ett år gammal. Friskt syrlig doft av hallon. Rejäl hallonsmak, laktosötsyrlig, relativt skarp syra och en hel del kolsyra gör den lite väl vass i munnen annars riktigt fin och med lambickaraktär.

Hazy pinkish color with white head. Aroma of yeasts, berries, funk. Taste is a bit of berries, tart, fruity, dry finish. High carbonation. Not nearly as good as I remember it from last year, but still quite good.

Flaska från SB. Smak och doft av hallon, rabarber, nypon, vete, humle, jäst need toner av mjölksyrebakterier. Syrlig, lagom sötma, rund med fina smaker. Friskt och gött.

Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and a fresh bitterness. Average carbonation.Mild acidic.

75 cl bottle thanks to Knä (non-ratebeer), sampled in Ludvika on August 25, 2014. BB Dec 2015.Cloudy reddish brown color, small white head. Sweet, fruity, berry, acidic, vinegar, red currants scent. Tart, grape peel, fruity taste. Berry aftertaste. Fizzy though low CO2 mouthfeel, very low bitterness.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours hazy red with ano head worth mentioning. Smell is tiny sour and fruity with crackers, raspberries, lemon juice, moist hay, black pepper corns, lemon zest and hints of barnyard. Taste is sour and fruity with crackers, raspberries, lemon juice, moist hay, raspberry vinegar, dry soil, lime juice and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is flat, dry tart and light bodied. Finish is sour and fruity with crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, raspberry vinegar, moist hay, apple skins and lemon zest. Completely flat which is a pity. I suspect this would have been quite enjoyable with some sparkling saison carbonation.
