As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity. This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Pours a nice amber from a bottle. Apricot aroma, meyer lemon flavor. Acidic and tart but with a lingering sweetness. Very good beer.

2014 vintage bottle pour, enjoyed at Brouwers Cafe with Tcon to celebrate 5 years since the epic brewery road trip to Colorado. Great beer then, great beer now. Juicy orange pour. Slow fizzing, fading head. Apricot like fruit, and the otherwise standout lambic gueuze flavor and aroma characteristics. A little more on the wild side as far as funk goes than I expected. Quite a tart orange fruit constant, but remains refreshing. Love the slightly sharp edge to this one. An appropriate bite and funk both to this. A special beer. Amazing stuff.

Bottle, bb 7.8.2034. Pours hazy amber with an almost nonexisting head. Aroma is elderflower, citric, little stables and horseblanket. Body is medium, puckering sour, a bit acidic yet not so much balsamico, but some yoghurt. Lower fruit notes than expected after the nose. Dryish palate, still really sour. Works well, but there are more balanced gueuzes out there.

Thin head. Green apples, oak, lemon, horse blanket, leather in the nose. Low carbonation, slight sweet, medium full body, oak, lemon and green apple. A bit too sweet for my liking but I love the nose.
