Did we choose the name Elephant to honour the statues that guard our brewery gates, or because it's a beer you'll remember forever? Pale gold in colour, Elephant is rich in malty character, with a hint of caramel, balanced by a satisfyingly dry bitterness. Once enjoyed, never forgotten!

Bottle, Alko. Poured golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is grassy and bit skunky. Flavor is sweet malty, som hopp notes as well. Alcohol shines through quite easily. Not my favourite kind of beer.

Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt and hops with notes of sugar and alcohol.

Bottle. Poured a weak amber with a near white head. Aroma was full of sweet malts and even a bit of honey. Flavor was a bit overly sweet with an alcohol bite at the end.

Can/Bottle, this must be one of the most horrible beverages in the world. No aroma and not a happy apperance. But most of all the flavor, tastes like they have added pure alkohol to a Carlsberg 3,5%!

Has some fruity sweetness in the aroma as well as lots and lots of alcohol. Itβs not a bad fragrance however, and is definitely inviting. Looks pretty good too, with a soft gold colour and head that slow dissipates. Not too fast and not too slow, and little bubbles coming up at a steady pace. The taste is another thing, though: taste like wet socks, skunky hops, lots of alcohol. Has a semi-dry finish with a hint of yuck. Worth the extra alcohol kick if you can stand the taste, but this is by no means a good example of a strong beer.

Pale blond. Aroma has a little hop freshness, a bit floral too. Has a sharp edge, a bit of hoppiness comes through too. Alcohol is well hidden.

Amber pour, mid-sized head fades to a thin layer.Aroma is quite weak, thereβs some grassy European hops, boring grainy malt and cardboard.Flavours show the same grassy hops before the alcohol and metallic bitterness take over in a horrible finish.Prickly mild carbonation takes away some of the flavour (thank god).

Overall Impression: A "strong" lager with a cool label, and because of that and it's ABV, a beer I use to buy a lot before I really got into beer.

11.2 fl oz bottle purchased as part of a mix a six at Lukas in Overland Park, Kansas. 20901302 stamped on the bottle. Pour is clear golden yellow with a nice looking two inch white head. The head settled to about one inch, and then lasted long. Initially, quite a lot of carbonation bubbles, and then quickly went still. Aroma is initially strongly skunky, but that passes fast. Behind that is fairly muted toasted malt and some earthy floral hops. Once you are past the skunk, not a bad nose, just dull. Taste really took me by surprise, this was a nice looking beer with a benign nose - but the taste is immediate and quite off-putting. Get slightly vegetal maltiness, bitter floral hoppy - and chemical sweetness (think cheap coffee flavoring). And the booze, there is a lot of booze in this. The finish is dirty grassy. Palate is medium thin, watery, decent carbonation level. The finish is long, grassy and very hot. Fortunately, the finish has honey sweetness, that is only somewhat "industrial" tasting. The aroma and appearance of this beer really saved its score. Hey Matt, you should check this one out next time you need a Russian Lager flashback.

Pours light amber into a shaker. Fluffy white head meringues as it slowly recedes leaving sheet lacing. Malt and light grain aromas. Soft with sweet caramel upfront and a lasting bitter hop and alcohol finish. Unfortunately, it becomes very cloying half-way through.
