In the spirit of excess, we hosted House of Funk Brewing to take a cue of their play-book to brew a beer that was almost unimaginably fruit forward. Using a crisp lemony base of a Berliner Weisse brewed with Lactose, we added an irresponsible amount of Black Currant, Boysenberry and Blackberry to produce our most fruit saturated beer to date. Sour, sweet and a touch tannic, this beer is all berry, with the 3 fruits working in tandem to give it a huge tart flavour profile and a very deep dark purple shade with a bright pink head to match.

16oz from Firefly LRS shared with Andrey. Appearance: nice deep purple with a dark rose head. Aroma: black currants, some lacto, sugared black currants. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: pretty good.

Big rich dark purple colour with a bubbly head. Quite tart, with a heavy berry taste. Full body. Not complex, definitely more jammy than smoothie, but that’s still decent for me.

Draught at the brewery
Deep purple aroma, turbid; I have to be careful to not spill any on my shirt because this can't be cleaned. Intense berry aroma and flavour, very light mint, light sweetness (balanced indeed; I was expecting more but can't complain).
True beer smoothie.

On tap at Twin Sails, pours a deep dark pinkish purple with a medium bright pink head. Aroma brings out tons of pithy berries upfront, with low sweetness. Flavour is loaded with an absurd amount of pithy berries - there's gentle sweetness, gentle tartness; it's mostly just heaps of berry pith. Lovely smoothie sour.

Big intense berry with a touch of leaf. Deep purple with almost no head. Big bold dark berry and some green leafy notes. Rich.
