This beer pushes the limits of our brewhouse with a grain bill full of Maris Otter, Vienna, Flaked Barley, Double Roasted Crystal, Golden Naked Oats and three different types of chocolate malt. If that’s not enough, we boil for a full 5 hours to concentrate the wort and create a rich, complex profile.
After fermentation, we steeped whole coffee beans from our friend Kevin at Ghost Roaster for 24 hours, giving a fresh aroma that hits you like opening a fresh bag of coffee.

Poured from 355mL can (pkg 14 Dec 2021). Near black with small deep beige head. Okay roast coffee character (could be better coffee character), slightly creamy. Decent overall.

Dark brown, thin head. Fairly big coffee aroma, very rich flavour, big coffee, moderate acidity, big rich malt base, maybe some raisiny stuff. Of the four of us, I'm the only one on RB, and the other three liked this much more than I did.

On tap. Pours black with moderate foamy tan head. Aromas of chocolate and espresso. Flavors of mocha, fresh ground, creamy coffee, vanilla, and rich roasted malts. A nice rich coffee stout.

Can from Firefly, Vancouver
Pitch black colour with light brown head, compact. Aroma of bread and coffee. The mouthfeel is smooth; lean body, with just light residual sugar, very good coffee flavour, roasted nuts, a touch of cream (lactose?).
Dominant coffee character, very well done.

473mL can, pours jet black with a small dark brown head. Nose is full of cold brew coffee and gentle roasted malt -- but overall pretty soft. Flavour is more intense, with heaps of cold brew coffee dominating. There is some gentle roast underneath, with medium-high residual sweetness. It's far from a complex impie, but it's smooth, well-crafted, and a pleasure to drink. Very good.

Dark roast and nice coffee. Jet black with a rich light brown head. Dark espresso roast and chocolate with a nice finish. Solid.

Nice coffee on the nose, styrofoam, chocolate chips. Good nitro foam is on top of a blackish brown body. Flavour is bright and chewy sweet coffee, chocolate syrup. Mouthfeel is refreshing, the sweetness doesn't linger. Alcohol is well hidden and this is well made, nice balanced coffee flavour.

473ml from JAK's NW. Appearance: very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: like a mocha. Taste: along the same lines, a quite nice body, moderately roasty and chocolatey. Overall: nice one.
