We’d love to tell you a winding, poetic story of how this collab with Superflux came to be. Something about disparate styles, common ground and a triumph over the chaos of life.
But, no. We just sent a text to the guys at Superflux and asked them to come down. We’ve been buddies for years, and they answered the call right away, no bribery or guilt required.
Superaad is a farmhouse IPA dry-hopped with a moderate amount of Vic Secret hops (according to Superflux), and can-conditioned.

Hazy, dullish yellow. Fairly thick head. Aroma is a funny mix of phenols and weedy hops. On the palate almost a 7Up character, sweet citrus and pale malt. Low bitterness. Not really inspiring me...just a flavour profile that misses the main pleasure centres. So a beer that’s okay technically but otherwise I don’t get it.

473mL can, pours a hazy dull golden orange with a small white head. Nose is full of farmhouse yeast, with citrus hops, and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with farmhouse funk, citrus hops, some pine, and biscuity malt. Really nice hybrid - the farmhouse yeast is incorporated really well. Good.

Smells of soft juicy chalk with a hint of drywall, foggyish yellow body with only a hint of foam. Flavour is weak lemon sauce. Refreshing mouthfeel anyway. Neither here nor there, lacking features to make one remember it.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy blond colour. The Saison character is mild, the IPA character is stronger; modern concept, with a lean, dry body; interesting hopping, getting notes of white grapes, muscat. Dry finish.
Very good.

Very dank and weedy. Clearish yellow with a small white head. Dank and a bit farty with some light citrus.

Taster shared with Alex. Appearance: hazy pale golden with a white head. Aroma: strange, like sulphuric fruitiness. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: oh well, not a fan, it is very weird.
