Enjoyed as a sample at Local Option while hanging out in the overtly loud bar with some friends. Appearance is pitch black with a rich white head. Aroma of burnt ash, smoked malt, smells like a torched building after a huge fire. Taste of burnt malt, pork, a very slight bit sour, a touch of pepper. Very very interesting, a definite sipper, couldn’t imagine drinking more than 6 oz of this.

Clear dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt, chocolate and smoky - peat. Flavor is quite sweet, moderate bitter and light acidic. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 180112

Bottle. Pours black with a latte colured head. The chili peppers goes great with the smoked malts. Nice experimental brew.

Bottle at Monks Wallingatan. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Malty brew with light taste of bbqed chorizo. I.e. a rather nice smoked chilibeer.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is smoked, milky sour, yeast, coffee. Flavour is milky sour, smoked, yeast, coffee, spices. Medium body. OK , but unusual beer.

Re-rate from @ Fox and hounds, Sønderborg. Dark brown body, almost black with a big tan head. Strong smoked aroma with dark malt and some peat. Flavor is smooth, distinct smoked, dark malt. Peat, meat and coffee. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. A pleasant one.

750ml bottle @ Patricks. Black body with a big, foamy beige head. Aroma is dominated by smoke, but also roasted malt and peat. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, fire and cured meat, peat and some bitterness. Full body, smoked aftertaste with just a hint of chilly. Quite interesting beer, but way to unbalanced for me.

Bottled on 18. February 2011, Bottle #291 - Pours murky brown with a massive foamy and bubbly head that takes ages to smoothen. Aroma has notes of pepper, smoke, roasted malts and ash. Taste is not very roasty or smoky but instead quite malty. Some unpleasant notes in the taste and hints of spices and sourness. Chili warms nicely in the finish, but overall quite unbalanced.

Bottle. Clear brown colour with a very large white head. A roasted aroma. Smoky flavour.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. 8,2% ABV, 28 EBU. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Enormous tan head. Strong aroma of smoked malts, peat, old rope and tar. The flavour has notes of smoked and roasted malts, a touch of peat, with a moderate sweetness to balance. Hints of tar and ashes. There’s just a slight chili burn in the aftertaste. A quite interesting beer!
