2010 Vintage/ 75 cl. bottle@home: 265/498 sweet & bitter liquorice, wild berries first followed by lots of peated malts, plenty of ashes that linger on, finished by a weird but interesting spoiled milk, sourness, yoghurt mixed with the ashes, hint of spiciness comes along with the boozy ending, very De Molen overall, very messy and probably more special than great (3.5) //// sampled it again on draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: confirms my suspicions that my bottle was indeed messed up, delicious Molen style strongly smoked malts, campfire wood, ink, sweet ashes & strong dash of it going into peat territory especially going by the nose / none of that sour milk/yoghurt crap (4.6)

Black color; nice creamy head. Mild aroma of roasted malts. Good body strength, the mouthfeel is lean; very good chocolate flavor, light roasted malts too; the chili peppers and smoked malt are very subdued, but at least they create a light sourness in the final. Good.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 16 July 2011) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, smoky, slightly acidic nose with notes of peat, smoke and dark bread. Malty, smoky taste with dark bread, peat, smoke and hints of citric hops in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Smoky and citric. Not exceptionally well balanced, but tasty and very nice.

330ml bought at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen. Pours a completely black body to a slowly fading, dense and fawn-coloured head. Slightly smoked malts to the nose assisted by dark fruity hops. Tart, dark fruits and spices successfully balanced with chocolate malts. Oak-tart ending. Soft and nice (Tromsø, 11.06.2011).

Bottle from Bierkompass. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma, fruity, spices, chocolate, smoke. Taste, red fruits, chocolate, roasted bread, caramel, some spices, smokey finish. Excellent complex beer.
