Rook & Vuur is a subtle balance between smoke, chocolate and chili peppers. Although it has a large complexity it is still surprisingly easy to drink. Try combining this beer with a young Gouda cheese and treat yourself. Flavor indication: Chocolate, chili, smoke Translates as Smoke & Fire

Bottle at Majstor za pivo, Belgrade. Shared with lovely Anja. Black with a brownish tint, small tan head. Extremely rich aroma of soy sauce, peat, smoked meat and salt. Salty and heavily smoked, caramel and spices. Hot! Creamy texture, moderate to full body, moderate carbonation, lasting roasty finish with a touch of spices. Very good, but a bit overenthusiastic.

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a dark beige head. Smoky aroma. Taste is dark malts, heavy smoke, chocolate notes, smoked meat. Faint chili notes, not much vuur to speak of. Finish is a bit sweet. A good smoked beer.

Zwart bier met donkerbruin schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitter en licht zoet met overduidelijk rook en verbrande mout. Tevens iets van cognac of whiskey te bespeuren, alsmede iets van rozijnen.

Bottle/Fest. A- Smoke, wood, subtle leather, slightly meaty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Chocolate, smoke, wood, slight umami. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- A really fine beer. Would’ve never guessed there are chili peppers in here. I can see now how they add a touch of spice but otherwise, this is loaded up with smoke and wood.
