Rook & Vuur is a subtle balance between smoke, chocolate and chili peppers. Although it has a large complexity it is still surprisingly easy to drink. Try combining this beer with a young Gouda cheese and treat yourself. Flavor indication: Chocolate, chili, smoke Translates as Smoke & Fire

Bottle from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a deep brown with a small mocha colored head. Lots of smoke in the nose that comes across peaty with some dark chocolate, roasted malt, garlic and bacon. Medium body with a cola-like mouthfeel. Good medium peat flavor with bacon and light chocolate notes on the palate. Chilli peppers on the finish. Solid.

Bottle, 0.33l. Pours pitch black with thin creamy light brown head, sparkling appearance and many yeast particles floating. Aroma of smoke, leather, caramel, roasted malt and earthy notes. Taste starts with moderate sweet roasted malt and chocolate, follows by licorice, chili, mild smoke and some char, mouthfeel is really spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Just excellent...

Black color with tan head. Aroma is smoked salmon, not too much bacon, very aromatic. Taste is smoked malts, a bit coffee, a nice little chili catch towards the end. Soft mouthfeel. Nice!

Bottle from Amersin. Clear rubyish dark brown colour. Stable head. Aroma dark malts, dark fruits, some peaty smokiness. Taste is considerably more smoky, heavy rauch character, both beech and peat elements. Other than that there are also dried fruits and some caramel, but this beer is defined by heavy smoke presence. Complex, fun, pleasant. Harder to drink though. Very good nevertheless.
