20/06/2011 33cl bottle @ home - bottled 06/2008 (2011-269)

Clear orange beer, very creamy white head, stable and a bit adhesive. Aroma: alcohol, citrus, oranges, candi sugar. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: tart, somewhat fruity, green apples, little bitterness is detectable but very faint. Aftertaste: still pretty sour, some bitterness. Despite the fact the brewer clames this beer will be ok until at least 3 years after botteling, it is clearly not. Rerate? Maybe, but I'm not really waiting for that day to come.

Bottled 33oml. -Just few days out of BBE. Hazy orange coloured, medium sized creamy white head that went away slowly, unpleasant sauerkraut nose. Spicy, fruity and sauerkraut taste with acidic yeasty and sugary notes. Slight alcohol hint in the finish. Infected bottle???

Bottle from 2 be in Bruges. Lot N 07. Pours hazy orange gold with a slight white head. Smell of lightly cooked fruits and perhaps honey. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is mildly bitter with sweet around the edges. Still seems honey. Some metallic presence. Finishes rather smooth and rich, and neither bitter nor sweet. It’s a very polished ale.

Perfect orange glowing coloured body with a golden tint, a great dense tan head that leaves quite the lacing, with a bunch of sediment in the bottom of the glass, with plenty of bubbles rising on the side - this is what I expect from a belgie. Aroma of wheat, coriander seed, yeast, cherries and a little bit of metal. Light-bodied. Malty body up front then fading to an almost gueuze like flavour, finishing a bit sour, sweet and very effervescent. Aftertaste shows the fruits, sour qualities and light malt more than anything else, but the hops also come out at the very end, along with a lot of dryness. Overall, a very complex beer - that I cant believe isnt liked way more. Compared to the other reviews below, my bottle was much different. Perhaps, its because I got this fresh from the store and kept it properly for a few months, allowing a good age to get to the beer? Regardless, it was much different tasting than any review I read about this one! I really liked this - perhaps one of my favourites from Belgium. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 11-March-2008, sampled on 17-December-2008.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a mid-sized blonde foamy head. Sweet and slightly sugary fruity (lemon zest, apples) nose with cara-malt with a light vinous touch. Sweet flavour with a tinge of acidity, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Slightly yeasty, zesty fruity and cara-malty taste with a moderately sweet and metallic finish. Starts good, ends rather weak (16.08.08).
