Cask @ Northern Monk Refectory, Manchester. Near black with a creamy off-white head. Mildly sticky-sweet, it has vanilla notes and is really smooth tasting. Has excellent cask conditioning in this one.

Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Sweet aroma with dark chocolate, coffee, dark malts and liquorice. Full bodied. Lasting finish with lingering vanilla. Excellent.

Burk restaurang Balkong. Färg och doft skiter vi i beskriva. Inte så intresant på en imp Stout. I munnen lätt oljig konsistens.

(440ml can from Kihoskh, Copenhagen) Pours pitch black with a big latte coloured head and lace. Notes of tangy dark malts with acidic roast, pennies, tart fruit, burnt bread, soy sauce, some cacao lingering in there too. Feels off to me, probably infected and maybe oxidized as well. Medium bodied at best, softly carbonated and quite boozy. A shame given how good the reviews here are; not what I was looking forward to.
