Farmageddon is our wild farmhouse ale that we've been brewing, blending, and aging for almost as many years as we've been open. The blending process allows us to maintain a common thread across batches, the aging adds nuanced layers, while the brett and bacteria work hard to create small idiosyncrasies in each release. It's a refined, effervescent, and delicious beer worthy of special occasions and idle weeknights.
The balanced, bright, slightly acidic, subtly bretty barrel aged beer that is Farmageddon has come to exist as the perfect base for experimentation with wine grapes and fruit.
This limited variant used 2019 Motley Cru: Black Raspberry vintage as a muse – this time comprised of slightly younger beer and incorporating red raspberries with black raspberries at a rate of 300 grams/litre.
What it smells like, what it tastes like: extreme flavours and aromas of berries and blue icee with a light herbaceous finish, brett funk and slight woodsy notes that come across as berry seeds and leaves.

500mL bottle. Pours deep mahogany with a mauve head. Aroma has a deep berry character. Flavour has a ton of tart raspberries and blackberries, dry woody barrels, lots of tannic grape skins. Excellent fruited sour with tons of complexity.

(500ml bottle from the brewery c/o one or both of Herbalist and Phyllomedusa, thanks!) Pours deep purple-red with a small receding dark pink head and no lace. Aroma of deep black raspberry and a fair bit of 'ordinary' raspberry, sweet and jammy with a touch of crushed fruit and pip bitterness, light lactic tart overtones and subtle wood but basically all about the fruit. Flavour is moderately tart and lightly to moderately sweet, crushed (black) raspberries, tart orange and lemon lactic acid, berry pips, light drying wood, berry pips, subtle herbal phenols, quite mineral and much less jammy than the nose though sweetness did increase with warmth. Medium bodied and a bit slick with soft smooth carbonation. All about the black raspberry as I'd expect, it somewhat drowns the wild ale on the nose but gives it a bit more space on the palate. Perhaps not as complex as the wine variants, but very enjoyable.

Sergey's hunt at Ash's, bottle
Deep red/purple colour. Impressive berry aroma. Smooth flavour, moderately sour, with good berry flavour, just not as much as the aroma.
Very good.

500ml (thx, Chris S.!) at Ash's shared with Alex and Andrey. Appearance: deep purple with a purple head. Aroma: raspberry bomb with some barrel notes, moderately sweet, a bit sour. Taste: not that rich as the aroma, not that much of berries characther left, mostly sour, some barrel notes. Overall: ok.

Bottle at Farmhouse Fest 2019, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small pink head. Aroma brings out deep red wine barrels, tart dark red fruits and some oak. Flavour is very complex, with intense dark red fruits, red wine barrels, and light oakiness. Wonderful complexity of red wine and red fruits.
