Backlog from 2014/11/09. And again from tap at De Paas, 2015/02/11. And again from tap at Proeflokaal Arendsnest; Gerookte trekdrop, en daar hou ik toevallig enorm van. Backlog from 2015/03/22.

Mostly just smoke. Leaves a very flat aftertaste once the initial smokey flavor has gone. Not good enough.

A black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has coffee, smoke, roastiness and some harsh soapyness. Taste has liquirice, only hint of smoke, bitterness in the end. Almost medium bodied, moderate smoothness. Good beer but more smoke could be there.

33 cl bottle @ Bierlokaal de Koffer
Aroma has sweet malty tones, some mild smokiness and leather shoes. Flavour has ash, some fruity tones with hops, licorice and very mild smoky tones. Aftertaste is unpleasantly milky after some sips. A bit straightforward and simple - but then again has nothing offensive and is easy to drink.

330ml bottle. Dark brown colour with fantastic ruby red glimmer and absurdely huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Woody, smoky aroma, hints of ashes, resin, glue, a herbal touch, hints of dark berries. Taste smoky, slightly roasty dark malty, woody, hints of resin and glue. Sadly some of the more fleshy smoke notes are rather ephemeral and give way to a slightly displeasing resinous glue note; which, once sniffed, it is hardly possible to get rid of.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Tiel. Clear dark brown with a small beige head. Malty and smokey aroma with a hint of mint?, i wonder where that came from. Taste is sweet and has also some smoke. body is medium, finish is long and smokey. Although reasonably smokey the smoke is balanced really nice with the malt base. A very nice beer.
