On tap at Vrteška. Murky brown body, thick white head. Caramel and raisins in the aroma, big maltiness, soft and pleasant though, low to no smoke there. The smoke is, however, evident in the taste. Apart from that, the body’s sweetish, with fruity touches, nicely balanced with a light bitterness. Ends dry. A quality beer.

Bottle, BB 03.2018, ABV 6.3% (from hetbiermoment). Pours dark brown-black with light brown head. The head stays for a long time. Aroma is cough syrup, smoke, bacon, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, sugar, smoke, malt, bacon, chocolate, slight booze. Finish is sweet and bitter, some nice chocolate, some woody dryness, some sugar. Feels really smooth in the mouth. Overall: very good.

Many thanks to RW80 for this beer! Smoke and malt in the nose. The beer starts fresh and round, intense with roasted hints and caramel, not too much bitterness. The smoke is subtle and round, the chocolate malts are there and fit in well, moderate bitter in the end. Nice smoked Porter - how it should be!

Huge, dense yellow-cream head, slowly retreating over ruby-shot black beer. Intense smoked nose, with smoked ham, tarred poles, salty peanuts but also chocolate; turffire and hard plastic. Sweet-smoked. Roasted nuts, roasted bread; turf, smoked meat in the finish. Well-carbonated, spritzy feel, yet slick to viscous. Medium bodied at least. Jongens, let your beers be brewed in Holland. Wallonia definitely doesn’t suit you. This one is sweet, but good!

0.33 l bottle from ’Mitra’ (Groningen) at 6.3% abv, best before December 2017. Clear, very dark red to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, very smoky and a little roasty aroma of smoked ham, caramel, milk chocolate and some nuts. Sweet, malty, very smoky and a little roasty taste of caramel, smoked ham, milk chocolate, a bit of maple syrup and some coffee, followed by a medium long, slightly roasty-bitter, rather smoky finish. Medium to full body, very creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very sweet, but also very tasty with massive smoke notes. Mouthfeel is great for that abv as well, really nice overall!

0,33 l bottle. Nearly black in the glass, small beige head. More smoke than Porter sweetness on the nose. Taste starts with pleasant smoke, no real peat, but also malty and hints of fruity sweetness. Increasing fruity sweetness in the middle part, oily mouthfeel. Getting more malty to the end, all with a present smoky background. Low bitterness, little bit alcoholic.Very nice!

33cl bottle @ home. Pours black color with a thick, dense, creamy brown head. Smoked meat, mocha notes, sweetness. Velvety mouthfeel, smoothness. Smoke is gentle but there, some meaty notes. Bit too sweet. Smoke lingering in the finish. Tasty.
