We here at Four Winds are honoured to have hosted the Tenth Anniversary brew for Vancouver Craft Beer Week. Coming in at a nice and light 4.2%, Ten is a dry-hopped table saison that is bursting with tropical flavours, making this an extremely satisfying summer beer. Thanks to our collab partners at Powell Brewing and Dageraad brewing for working with us on this recipe, and thank you to all of the sponsors who donated their time and resources to make this project a reality.

Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy reddish purple with a small pink cap that produces spotty lace. Nose is bright haskap and funk with light wood. Lightly sweet with a medium berry tartness. Mouth is medium with prickly carbonation. 8/4/7/3/14+

Purplish, hazy, just a thin head. Lots of haskap on the nose, slight hint of butyric, on the palate a sweeter berry note, cleaner, too, with a touch of malt.

500ml shared with Phill and Farees @ Ryan's. Appearance: purple with a bit of rose head. Aroma: berries and funk, some barrel. Taste: along the same lines, light funk, light berries, light barrel. Overall: pretty unique beer considering the overall combination, probably, a great beer for a hot summer day. It's a bit watery, but it's what it makes perfect for a summer day.

Poured from 500mL bottle (4W June Beer Club). Slightly hazed dark red with small off white head. Woody young oak forward with mild haskap berry, feint vinous note, decent, but not a ton of complexity here, nice for 6.4%.

Grapefruit and mango. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Citrus and mango with a nice creamy coconut finish. Solid.

Smells of nicely balanced sweet juicy hops, has good foam on top of a clear yellow body. Flavour is soft juicy hops with a hint of grain. Mouthfeel is full enough. Nice and refreshing, though not too exciting.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Pale blond colour, cloudy, bright, with medium head. Delicate aroma, spice and citrus zest. The mouthfeel is weak and dry, a bit of yeast character, spice; underhopped, just a touch of sweet orange, and the final is weak and short.
Boring beer, drinkable, a poor example for what should be a craft beer celebration, in 2019 many people were ready for something more daring.

473mL can, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral dry hopping, with some phenols, and light saison yeast. Flavour is along the same lines, with phenolic notes, light dry hopping, and biscuity notes. Very light and unassuming, with a phenolic finish. Not very good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ten on 13 Aug 2023 at 19:02 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: On tap at Farmhouse Fest 2023, pours a cloud dark red with a medium pinkish beige head. Aroma brings out tart red berries, light bugs, and oak. Flavour is full of tart red berries, gentle bugs, and a touch of oak. A bit muddled, finishing earthy and gently fruity. Decent but nothing special.
