Aroma of roasted malts, tart fruit, spicy yeast, chocolate, a bit peppery. Flavour is roasty, a bit sweet and light tart. Carbonation is pretty high. Quite nice Black Saison, I wasn’t sold on the style but this one proves it can be done.

Bottle, thanks to MrH. Cork exploded as soon as the cage was loosened, but fishing. Pours deep mahogany, large beige head, dissipates pretty quickly. Aroma is roasty, tobacco, dust, molasses, earthy. Flavor is dry, light plus bitter, earthy, grassy, dusty, roasty. Medium body, high carbonation. This this mostly a stout...

33cl Bottle shared at my place. Dark brown, big head, hard to pour. Smoked beef, fruits, chocolate, herbal. Not a big fan. Backlog from 2014/10/18.

330ml bottle. Clear, dark brown colour, ruby red glimmer, with huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Citrusy hoppy, fruity aroma, notes of grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, tangerine, dark malty background with a chocolately touch, some roast, cautious hints of smoke. Taste delivers similar flavours, opening a new field between Saison and Black IPA. Nice.

0,33 l bottle from P&M Getränke, bottled on 10/2/2014. Clear, very dark ruby with a massive, foamy, stable, tan head. Intense aroma of passion fruit, mango, grapefruit and lemon, supported by a subtle smoky note of smoked ham and ash, with a bit of dark chocolate as well. Intense, quite bitter taste of passion fruit, grapefruit and mango, followed by smoked ham and ash as well as some dark chocolate. Long, rather bitter and peppery finish with lots of grapefruit as well as dark chocolate. Medium to full body, very foamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very interesting and unusual beer that tries perhaps a bit too much. Very complex and full of flavour but a bit harsh in the end. Still nicely balanced and tasty.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Max & Stas. Dark brown to black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, nice smokiness, a bit of sausages, roast, and spicy hint. Sweet roasty flavor, kinda smoky, with some chocolate, and a spicy note towards the dry finish. Medium-bodied. Nice stuff, but not a Saison.
