This is our twist on a Gose, a traditional German sour and salty wheat beer style. Botanik was brewed with a variety of botanicals often found in Gin, including Coriander, Juniper Berries, Black Limes and Grains of Paradise, giving it a distinct fruity, spicy and herbal character.

A dry and slightly salty finish make this beer extremely refreshing and a perfect way to keep cool on a summer afternoon.

Nice deep red body and some minimal foam. Smells of good red wine notes, slight currant, apple cider hints. Taste is not a bad meld of fruit, apple, and sharp citrus. Good carbonation, lingering sweetness and tannins. Nice, a fruity cider sort of sour.

473ml can. Pours a hazy pale gold with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Mild aroma of grainy wheat malt, lime, coriander and floral hops. Sweet flavour of bready wheat malt, lime, coriander, juniper and salt in a dry, slightly sour finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Draught at the brewery
Hazy blond colour. The aroma is not bad, it's delicate and fruity; the mouthfeel is soapy, the flavour is a bit like detergent, lightly salty, and with mild botanicals. Not very interesting.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of salt upfront, followed by spicy coriander and a hint of lacto. Flavour is quite spicy, with lots of gin botanicals, salt, and spicy coriander. Tart and citrusy finish, with a spicy, gin-like finish. Okay.

Big gin aroma. Mild bitterness, lots of herbal gin character. A fair bit of lime, too. Lots of lime, and a touch of juniper.
