Our Lindeboom Oud Bruin (Old Brown) has its own drinkers. This sweet and very malty beer is distinctly dark. Fans drink it as dark beer, but also add it to Lindeboom Pilsener to make a ’half-and-half’ or an ’infusion’. The flavour and colour of Lindeboom Oud Bruin are the result of the traditional brewing process, where, during the brewing a very dark malt syrup is added to the brew and afterwards the beer is even sweetened a little.

0.3 l bottle from 'Wijnhuis Blerick', best before November 2017. Clear, very dark brown to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty and a little fruity aroma of caramel, burnt sugar and traces of raisins. Quite sweet, malty, bready and a little fruity taste of caramel, toasted bread, burnt sugar, grains and hints of raisins, followed by a short, slightly bitter, bready finish. Thin to medium body, moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Well-drinkable, not too sweet Oud Bruin.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is really sweet, like maltose lemonade. Nasty chemical aftertaste. Lacks depth. This is really bad.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweet malt. The flavour is strong sweet with a super sweet dry earthy palate and a sweet finish. All about the sweetness. Not good at all!

Bottle shared. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of raisins, overripe dark fruit and caramel. Flavour is Diabeetus, with just a little underlying bitterness in the finish. Light bodied with light carbonation.
